Overly-commercialized-Hallmark-holiday or not, Valentine’s Day is probably one of my favorite days of the year. Whether you’re in a relationship with that special someone and looking to pass along some cute ideas, or just looking for a fun gift for your close girl friends here are some great beauty-filled Valentine’s Day gift ideas that aren’t flowers (they die, anyway) or chocolate (who needs all those extra calories).

While most of us don't want to leave a trail of scent behind us overpowering anything within 10 yards of us a little lasting power from a great fragrance is always nice.
As of late there are many options for perfumes that offer a fresh, lighter and more feminine scent which are a great option, not too strong or offensive especially in a workplace or otherwise scent-cautioned environment.
The downside of these lighter scents, though, is the staying power just isn't there and they tend to disappear quite quickly. And who wants to buy a perfume that smells amazing only for it to disappear into midair?
So how do you make that great scent last?

NEW Marc Jacobs Lola Eau de Parfum
Move over Daisy, Marc Jacobs has a new fabulous fragrance launching for fall and it's being touted as Daisy's vampy and more sensual older sister.
The intoxicating scents starts out very fruity-floral with notes of pink peppercorn, pear, ruby red grapefruit, peony and rose with a second layer of oriental scents (but not too heavy) with notes of vanilla, tonka bean and musk.
Not to mention the fun, flirty bottle which is the perfect accompaniment to vanities every where.
Currently a Bloomingdales exclusive, Marc Jacobs Lola will be available at most perfume counters (Sephora included) in September.

May is quite possibly my favorite month of the year. Spring air, tulips, sunny weather and of course my birthday! To celebrate the month of May here are some of my favorite beauty picks of the month.
Clinique Sun SPF 30 Face Cream this oil-free formula is non-greasy and does not have that sunscreen smell that most sunscreens have. Its a cream but I really don't find it heavy at all and it blends into my skin quite nicely. Great for daily use.
Fekkai ‘Marine Summer Hair’ Beach Waves I love that beachy wavy look and it's really easy to accomplish with Fekkai's Marine Summer Hair. I just spritz it on damp hair and scrunch to achieve that perfect day at the beach hair look. Way less hassle than blow-drying and straightening.
MAC Style Warriors Collection Brave New Bronze Lipstick this lipstick is the perfect mid-tone bronzy nude color with a touch of pink. This is the first MAC lipstick I've bought that doesn't look too milky or need a lip gloss over it just to look decent. I'm loving it!
Essie Greenport nail polish from their North Fork collection this is a really pretty turquoise color thats hot for spring and a great summer bright color. It feels nice to put away my dark vampy purples and blues this spring and opt for some lighter brighter colors. I have this on my toes currently and haven't been able to stop checking them out.
Lilly Pulitzer Beachy this definitely reminds me of a day at the beach. With notes of watermelon, citrus along with a hint of salty air and tiare this fragrance is an escape Palm Beach vacation in a bottle. Waves and sunset not included. Perfect summer beachy fragrance in a delightful bottle.
Happy Spring!
