It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s... a lip balm!?

I saw these super cute new lip balms by EOS at my local Walgreens when I was picking up some staples. You know how it is, the packaging was too cute to pass up (I’m a total sucker for cute packaging, I know.. guilty!)

They come in a spherical egg-shaped package that not only looks cute but it makes finding the lip balm at the bottom of your purse -so- much easier.

The clear lip balm is a little awkward to apply as the surface area is rather large, It’s easiest to apply to both lips at once. The formula is nice and moisturizing (contains shea butter, vitamin E and jojoba oil) which makes lips soft, and the formula isn’t waxy, sticky or greasy. The only thing it's missing is SPF.

They come in 3 different flavors; sweet mint, summer fruit (smells delish -like papaya or mango) and honeysuckle honeydew. My favorite scent is definitely the summer fruit, although the smells don’t really linger after applied.

Best of all they’re 95% organic, 100% natural and contain no petrolatum or paraben. Definitely worth a try, how cute would these egg-shaped balms be for Easter?

How to Care for Damaged Hair

Over-processing, heat styling and lack of proper care can leave hair feeling dry and damaged. There’s plenty of products out there to prevent damage and breakage, but what do you do when your hair has already reached the point of being dry and damaged? Its time to pull out the big guns for some serious hair repair and deep reconstructing.

The Basics:

When hair is damaged and breaking from over-processing, heat styling, highlighting etc. chances are its lacking in protein. Protein is what keeps hair strong and elastic and prevents it from breaking. The highlighting/bleaching process involves removing color and proteins from the hair giving it a pale-yellow blonde appearance. Remove too much of the protein and the hair is left damaged and easily breakable.

The Solution:

Restructure hair by adding back protein to strengthen hair and giving it moisture to soften and add shine.

Is Hair Length Indicative of Economic Times?

It all began with Hemline Theory, the theory that the hemline du jour on ladies dresses rises and falls as the stock market prices move up and down. The floor-length maxi dress trend in the past few years for example has been concurrent with hard economic times.

But forget Hemline Theory, there's a new trend on the market. In the midst recent tough times, the short hair-do has been all the rage.

A study based out of Japan has found that women tend to wear their hair long when the economy is good and short when the economy is in a slump.

Many celebs, like Rachel McAdams above, and trend-setters alike have reverted to cutting their locks short in search of a more manageable low-maintenance do, which also assumes less upkeep.

Other celebs like Carmen Electra and R&B singer Cassie have taken short hair one step further by shaving a portion of their signature lengthy locks entirely.

So how about you? Are you embracing this anti-extension trend in search of something easier to upkeep and maintain?

1.) bareMinerals Matte - I decided to give this a try since I love Bare Minerals (but found it a little too glowy on my oily skin for summer.) I love it! And the closable sifter is a huge bonus. 2.) China Glaze Shower Together - I actually had to ask someone what color they were wearing because I loved it so much, I bought it the next day and have had it on my toes since! 3.) Rohto Hydra Eye Drops - I reviewed this before but it's amazing! The cooling sensation is so soothing for tired eyes. 4.) Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara - Im a huge fan of Diorshow mascara, this one is lengthening, curling and waterproof all in one tube. 5.) Redken Color Extend Sun Leave-In - I'm notorious for forgetting to put sunscreen on my hair part and getting burnt there. This has SPF and has saved me much agony! 6.) MAC Foolishly Fab Plushglass - Scored this color at a CCO after regretting not buying it. It's a like lilac-y purple shows up quite sheer with a hint of color.

Hair Guru Ted Gibson to Replace Nick Arrojo on TLC's 'What Not to Wear'

As much as I love getting dolled up and going out at night, staying home to watch What Not to Wear seems to be the perfect way to relax and start my weekend off right. I've watched this show pretty much since the beginning days when Wayne Scot Lukas was co-host (now replaced by Clinton Kelly).

While I love seeing peoples train-wreck outfits and love fantasizing about how I would spend the $5,000, the best part of the show, in my beauty addicted opinion, is the makeovers! The haircuts, the makeup these things really make the whole transformation complete.

In my many years watching the show I've seen hair stylist Nick Arrojo transform many from drab to fab, although he did have a penchant for similar short cuts he really helped make the transormations complete. But alas there's a new hair guru on the block, Ted Gibson.

Known for his amazing work on the runways and celebrities alike, Ted Gibson brings his expertise and a fresh image which is bound to be a perfect compliment to the show.

As much as I'll all miss Nick's cuts (an accent) it's time to ring in the new with Ted Gibson (Ted and Carmendy sounds good right?) be sure to watch his debut this Friday, July 24th at 9 p.m.
